The Chioma Ajunwa Foundation’s yearly anti-drug abuse and trafficking seminar will be held on June 26, 2025 with a clarion call on government and individuals to join in the crusade against abuse of illicit substances.

According to the foundation’s president and former Olympics women’s long jump champion, Chioma Ajunwa-Oparah, the event billed for the National Institute for Sports (NIS) Gymnasium at the National Stadium, Lagos, will attract eminent personalities, who will speak on the seminar’s theme, “Golden Dreams Without Drug Abuse or Trafficking.”

The foundation explained that the theme is meant not only to educate youths on the dangers of drug abuse, but also to let them know that they can achieve their dreams without taking mind benders or engaging in illicit drug trafficking.

“Today many youths, because of economic and social pressure, are falling back on drugs to escape reality; illicit drugs are readily available on our streets and there is an alarming rate of youths involved in drug abuse and trafficking,” Ajunwa Oparah said.

She noted that across Nigeria and Africa, the effects of drug abuse are becoming more pronounced with an increase in the number of youths falling off the social ladder and roaming the streets in distress.
