‘Super Falcons: Coaches deserve better compensation than players’
The General Overseer (GO) of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has assured Nigerians that they could always be winners as long as they understand the underlying secrets to success.
Adeboye gave the assurance, yesterday, during the August Thanksgiving Service at the RCCG headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, where he ministered on the theme: “The Winning Team.”
He also used the occasion to pray for sports administrators, regulators, promoters, businessmen, training institutions, men, ladies and supporters clubs, saying: “Victory is sweet and no one celebrates a loser. Everybody is in a race, and all we need is to understand the underlying factors of success as they apply to a team being prepared for a match. Every team needs a good coach to win, and the success of a team depends largely on the experience of the coach.
However, the GO has advocated better compensation for sports coaches in Nigeria.
Adeboye, who commended Tinubu for the awards on Super Falcons for their victory at the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, said coaches should not get less compensation than the players because players depend on the experience, direction and technical know-how of coaches.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration and Pastor in Charge of Region 1, RCCG, Dele Balogun, advised every Nigerian not to depend on their talent alone.
He added that while they upskill their talents, they should also believe that without trusting God, their self-confidence in their talent can fail them.
Balogun, therefore, called on drug addicts to shun their bad habit and trust God for strength and success.
