President Bola Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to former Vice President of Nigeria, Architect Mohammed Namadi Sambo, as he marks his 71st birthday today, August 2.
In a tribute, President Tinubu described Sambo as “a man of integrity and loyalty,” who has remained steadfast in his commitment to Nigeria’s unity and stability.
Sambo, a respected architect and public servant, served as Governor of Kaduna State from 2007 to 2010 and later as Vice President under President Goodluck Jonathan between 2010 and 2015.
The President lauded the elder statesman for his enduring contributions to national development, highlighting his continued support for religious tolerance, peace, and good governance in Kaduna State, particularly in collaboration with Governor Uba Sani.
“Sambo’s dedication to the Nigerian project and to interfaith harmony continues to inspire confidence and respect,” Tinubu said.
He also acknowledged Sambo’s regional contributions, including his leadership of the ECOWAS Election Observation Mission to Ghana’s 2024 presidential polls and similar missions to Niger Republic in 2020 and 2021.
President Tinubu wished the former Vice President good health, strength, and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria.
In a related development, the President congratulated Senator Aliyu Wadada Ahmed on his turbaning as Magajin Dangin Lafia by His Royal Highness, Justice Sidi Muhammad Bage (rtd), the Emir of Lafia and Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs.
Describing the title as a “well-deserved honour,” Tinubu praised Wadada’s long-standing commitment to public service, community development, and national unity.
“I commend the Emir of Lafia for upholding the noble tradition of recognising individuals whose lives exemplify the values of leadership, service, and patriotism,” he said.
Addressing Senator Wadada directly, President Tinubu stated: “As Magajin Dangin, you bear a title rich in history and responsibility. I am confident you will continue to use your influence, experience, and goodwill to promote peace and foster development within the Lafia Emirate, Nasarawa State, and across our great nation.”
The President wished Senator Wadada continued wisdom, strength, and success in his dual roles as a federal legislator and traditional titleholder.
