Tottenham Hotspur’s long-serving player Son Heung-min has announced his exit from the London club after ten years of giving his sweat and blood to them.

The South Korean made the announcement during a press conference alongside the club’s new manager, Thomas Frank while they were on pre-season tour with Tottenham in Seoul.

The 33-year-old joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and has scored 173 goals in 454 appearances. He led Tottenham to beating Manchester United in the Europa League final in May to clinch their first trophy in 17 years.

What did Son Heung-min say about his exit from Tottenham?

He confirmed that this was the most difficult decision that he has made in his entire football career.

“I came to North London as a kid – a very young age, a young boy came to London who didn’t even speak English. Leaving this club as a grown man is a very, very proud moment.”

Tottenham are expected to play Son in their next pre-season game against Newcastle in their friendly on Sunday meaning his final appearance for the club could come in his home country.

How many Premier League goals did Son score for Tottenham?

He scored 127 times in the league – level with former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at 16th in the league’s all-time scorers list, ahead of the likes of Dwight Yorke, Steven Gerrard, and Ian Wright.

Which club will Son join next after leaving Spurs?

Son is expected to leave Tottenham to join the MLS league while the Los Angeles Football club are optimistic to get the South Korean deal done with agreement very advanced, at final stages.
