Nigeria’s capital will host the inaugural Progressive Digital Media Summit on August 1 and 2, 2025, at the State House Banquet Hall, Aso Villa, bringing together digital media professionals, policymakers, and influencers for two days of strategic dialogue on the role of new media in national development.

Organised by President Bola Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress (APC), the summit is expected to be the largest gathering of digital communicators in the country.

According to the organisers, the summit will explore how digital platforms can be leveraged to promote effective governance, shape public perception, and support the implementation of key policies under the Renewed Hope agenda.

“The Progressive Digital Media Summit will bridge the gap between policymakers and the country’s growing digital community,” Olusegun said in a statement. “This is a timely opportunity to elevate the national discourse on digital engagement and align it with Nigeria’s development goals.”

Themed “Unveiling the Critical Role of New Media in National Development with a Focus on the Renewed Hope Agenda”, the event will feature panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions designed to equip participants with tools for digital advocacy, storytelling, and policy communication.

Stakeholders expected to attend include government officials, media strategists, influencers, content creators, and communication professionals across sectors. The summit will also spotlight digital innovation opportunities within President Tinubu’s administration and the broader public sector.

A key highlight of the two-day event will be the official unveiling of PBATVersary 2.0, a compendium documenting the milestones of President Tinubu’s administration over the past two years.

The organisers say the summit will offer participants hands-on experiences, including skills development sessions and curated discussions on combating misinformation, fostering transparency, and amplifying civic engagement through technology.

Registration for the summit is open to all interested stakeholders.
