Cavista Holdings has named Olumide Olayomi as its new Executive Director and Vice President for Government and External Affairs, expanding his role in shaping the company’s engagement with public institutions and strategic partners across Africa.

The appointment, confirmed by the company on Monday, marks a significant internal promotion. Olayomi previously served as Director of Government and External Affairs. His elevation is seen as part of Cavista’s broader effort to consolidate high-level institutional relationships and reinforce its leadership with individuals experienced in both policy and development sectors.

“Olumide is a consummate professional who works tirelessly to lead our Government and External Affairs team at Cavista Holdings,” said John Olajide, Chairman of Cavista Holdings. He added that Olayomi’s leadership has earned wide respect within the organisation and that his promotion reflects the value he brings to its mission.

Olayomi brings over 30 years of experience to the role, including work in public administration, private enterprise, and policy consulting. He has served in roles ranging from Head of Government and Community Relations at Etisalat (now 9mobile) to Corporate Services Lead at Churchgate Group. His tenure in government includes an appointment as Special Assistant to the Secretary to the Lagos State Government and as Sole Administrator of Apapa Iganmu LCDA, where he managed local governance for over one million residents.

He has also advised on tax reform initiatives in Lagos State and held senior operational positions in the private sector, including as Head of Strategy and Operations at Olivestrength Nigeria Ltd. His credentials include studies in Geography and Planning, as well as executive education at Lagos Business School.

Olayomi is affiliated with multiple professional bodies and networks, including LEAD International, the Nigerian Institute of Management, and serves as chairman of Omonide Farms Ltd.

Cavista Holdings stated that the new role will see Olayomi continue to lead the company’s strategic engagements with government and external stakeholders, particularly as it expands its presence across the continent and deepens its international collaborations.
