Where to Stay in Québec’s Maritime Regions
Québec’s Maritime regions, like Percé and Gaspé, are packed with coastal charm, scenic drives, and warm local hospitality. On my road trip through the area, I stayed in a range of places, from cozy auberges (small, often family-run inns) to premier hotels with all the amenities.
What made the experience truly memorable was the personal touch. Some hosts went above and beyond, offering insider tips and making me feel right at home. If you want to really connect with the region and its people, staying at locally run spots is the way to go.
Here’s a look at some of the standout places I stayed along the way.
Where to Stay in Percé, Québec
Hôtel-Motel le Mirage
This spot boasts killer views of Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island. The 67 rooms are all of a good standard, and the vibe is warm and welcoming, making it perfect after a long day.
All of the rooms have a view of Percé Rock. Set your alarm for around 4 am (check for exact times), and with a bit of luck you can take an amazing picture of the sunrise over Percé Rock before falling back into bed.
This 3-star establishment typically opens from June to October and offers 67 stylishly rustic rooms, each equipped with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, and a private balcony that overlooks the iconic limestone formation and the Atlantic Ocean.
Guests enjoy a seasonal outdoor pool, tennis court, and a cozy coffee shop serving Nespresso, pastries, and fruit salads, though breakfast is an additional cost. While praised for its impeccable cleanliness, spacious rooms, and prime location, it is a 10-minute walk to downtown Percé.
Its proximity to attractions like Parc national de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé and local seafood restaurants makes it an ideal base for exploring Gaspé’s maritime wonders.

Where to Stay in Gaspé, Québec
Auberge sous les Arbres
A small, historic gem in downtown Gaspé, this inn mixes old-school decor with modern comforts. The owners treat you like family, which makes it special.
Auberge sous les Arbres is a charming 3-star boutique hotel that blends the cozy ambiance of an inn with modern comforts. I arrived late, but I liked that place right away. Next time I will stay longer.
Located just steps from Gaspé Cathedral and a short drive from Forillon National Park and Percé Rock, its 12 uniquely decorated rooms and 2 studios feature air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, Nespresso machines, and soundproofing, with some offering balconies overlooking the bay.
You can see that the hosts run this place with a lot of passion, and they also serve a generous continental breakfast featuring local products, served in a stylish dining room. With free Wi-Fi, parking with electric vehicle charging, and a serene English-style garden with colorful terraces, this family-friendly auberge is a perfect base for exploring Gaspé’s maritime wonders. Just note that their standard checkout time is 9:30 a.m., which may feel early for some.

Where to Stay in Rimouski, Québec
Hôtel Rimouski
Right on the St. Lawrence River, this place has 185 cozy rooms, a convention center, and an on-site restaurant (La Brigade 225–we’ve covered it in our guide on what and where to eat in Québec’s Maritime Regions).
The rooms have more of the style of a typical business-class hotel, but it’s a great hub for exploring Bas-Saint-Laurent.
Hôtel Rimouski is a premier 4-star destination, and it blends comfort and convenience halfway between Gaspé and Quebec City. Guests enjoy modern, spacious suites equipped with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and some feature stunning views of the St. Lawrence River. Unfortunately, my room faced the parking lot.
They also have a large indoor pool with a waterslide, a sauna, and a fitness room, making this a great choice for families as well. The on-site La Brigade 225 restaurant serves regional specialties like filet mignon and seafood, while the hotel’s congress center caters to events. Visitors praise the clean, quiet rooms and prime location near the riverfront promenade, though some note occasional Wi-Fi issues and dated decor. Ideal for families or business travelers, Hôtel Rimouski offers attractive rates and a welcoming atmosphere for exploring Bas-Saint-Laurent.

Where to Stay in Saint-Pacôme, Québec
Auberge Comme au Premier Jour
Housed in a restored 1868 presbytery, this eco-friendly inn oozes heritage and serves up local cuisine. The family-run feel seals the deal. Also, here you can see that the hosts put in all their passion to run this accommodation. Auberge Comme au Premier Jour is a charming family-run inn housed in a beautifully restored 1868 presbytery. It stands for its serene ambiance and eco-conscious hospitality.
Nestled in the scenic Kamouraska region, the auberge features nine cozy, rooms with private bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, alongside two nearby tourist residences. What might be missing is air conditioning for warmer summer nights, but I was fine without it.
A friend recommended their gourmet dining experience, featuring a menu that showcases local ingredients, such as halibut with apple sauce and lamb pâté, served in a quaint dining room or on a spacious veranda. If that sounds inviting, make sure to make a reservation for dinner.
Amenities like a heated saltwater pool, massage therapy, and a location near St-Pacôme Golf Club and Route 132’s scenic views make this auberge a perfect retreat for relaxation and culinary exploration.
