The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will go down as one of the most competitive due to the number of teams (32) that participated, as opposed to the usual eight clubs in the past.
For the first time, 32 of the world’s best club sides have converged for supremacy on the global stage. As the fans around the world look forward to the semi-finals only four clubs remain in the competition.
The clubs include Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Fluminense, as each of them will be looking to make history at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
What are the chances of the remaining four teams lifting the Club World Cup?
Paris Saint-Germain
The Champions of Europe have been tipped by the bookmakers and sports pundits as the club with the highest probability of lifting the trophy.
The Parisian club entered the competition with momentum and confidence. Led by the firepower of prolific attack and a balanced midfield PSG have been ruthless in attack and composed in defense since the beginning of this tournament and this be an advantage in their quest to be crowned Champions of the world.
Chelsea Football Club
Chelsea are the second most favoured team to win the FIFA Club World Cup following their recent form in the competition.
The Blues, who qualified based on their historic UCL win in 2021, have impressed with fluid attacking play and defensive discipline. Their squad depth and tactical flexibility make them dangerous opponents for anyone.
Chelsea face Fluminense in the semi-final, a fixture many expect them to win. With a slim chance of winning the competition, they are seen as PSG’s closest challengers to emerge as Champions.
Real Madrid
The most successful club in UEFA Champions League history know how to step up when it matters the most. Their path to the semi-finals has been fantastic following their 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
However, what they lack in recent form, they make up for in experience and clutch mentality. They are being ranked third on the team with the best chance of winning the Club World Cup, but if they overcome PSG in the semis, their chance of winning the tournament will increase.
Fluminese
Fluminense have already made statements in the competition by knocking out giants like Al Hilal and Inter Milan. They will be looking to take it a step higher by beating Chelsea in the semi-finals to make history.
The strength of Fluminese is that they play with flair, tactical discipline, and a fearless mindset but the combination of their defence could be a major disadvantage against a younger Chelsea attacking team.
