Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has stirred nostalgia among fans after opening up about his university days, where he shared the campus stage with peers who would later rise to stardom.

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has taken fans on a trip down memory lane after revealing that he once shared the same university campus with fellow stars Asake, Fireboy DML, and Superboy Cheque.

In a clip from a recent interview that surfaced on Monday, September 22, 2025, the rapper recalled their time at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Osun State, describing it as a “crazy” experience. According to him, they all happened to be on campus at the same time, finishing their degrees and performing at shows together.

“OAU was not a school for… doing all that shit, for artists performing, bro. This is a school where we’d only do serious shit,” Blaqbonez said with a laugh. “But somehow all of us came in at the same time and all left at the same time and the school went back to business.”

The revelation has struck a chord with fans, adding an inspiring layer to the stories of some of Afrobeats’ biggest names. Long before they were selling out arenas and dominating charts, these artists were students balancing lectures with dreams of making it big.

Their time at OAU now reads like a pivotal chapter in Nigerian music history, showing how a single institution became a breeding ground for some of the genre’s most influential voices. It’s a reminder that even global superstars were once just young hopefuls, hustling on campus stages before the world began to listen.
