Nigerian rappers Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez have engaged in a public dispute on social media over who holds the title of Nigeria’s top rapper.
The exchange began on X (formerly Twitter), where Blaqbonez stated he was unwilling to engage in prolonged online confrontations. “ENTER STUDIO & GET TF OUT MY MENTIONS. THIS NO BE TWITTER WARFARE & STOP CALLING THE WHOLE INDUSTRY CRYING ABOUT ME. NO BE SO KENDRICK LAMAR DEY DO,” Blaqbonez wrote.
Responding, Odumodublvck dismissed Blaqbonez’s stance, questioning his resolve. “IF RAP HARD FOR ME, YOUR LAST HIT NO GO DE WITH ME. I AM EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO BE NIGGA. YOUR SPIRIT IS WEAK,” he said.
The disagreement sparked widespread reactions among fans, with many weighing in on who they consider the superior artist. Some created online polls, while others shared personal views, further intensifying the debate.
One X user expressed support for Blaqbonez, stating, “Nigerians are too quick to disrespect talents for a trend. Blaqbonez is talented and can fit into every generation of hip hop eras. Odumodu can’t be a star in a sane country that doesn’t glorify vulgar street music.”
Another user backed Odumodublvck, writing, “This one no be argument nah just stupidity to compare Blaqbonez to Big Kala Gy. Even Davido talk am say Od nah the biggest rapper in Nigeria right now, so gy let’s not argue this.”
Neither artist has indicated if the feud will continue beyond social media or translate into diss tracks, a common feature of rap culture.
