The nominations for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced, with Apple TV+’s Severance leading the field with 27 nods. The HBO series The Penguin followed closely, while Adolescence emerged as one of the year’s notable breakout dramas.
The ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 14, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, airing live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. Comedian Nate Bargatze is set to host.
Among this year’s historic nominations, Kathy Bates became the oldest actor ever nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Drama at 77 for her role in Matlock, while Owen Cooper, 15, earned recognition as the youngest nominee in the Supporting Actor in a Limited Series category for Adolescence.
Harrison Ford received his first Emmy nomination for his performance in Shrinking, and Beyoncé’s Beyoncé Bowl was nominated for Best Variety Special.
