Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has opened up about her widely publicized fallout with fellow artist Davido, sharing a message of reconciliation and reaffirming their bond.
In a candid interview on The Breakfast Club aired Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Savage explained that their dispute stemmed from a misunderstanding but insisted that she still cares for him.
The conflict, which came to light in January 2024, reportedly began after Tiwa Savage shared a photo on her Instagram story with Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first daughter’s mother. The post allegedly upset Davido, who reportedly sent Savage disrespectful messages and threats. Concerned for her safety, Savage filed a police report.
During the interview, Savage clarified that her relationship with Sophia Momodu is purely friendly, stemming from their children attending the same school. “I think it was a miscommunication,” she said, explaining that she never anticipated the post would be seen as a problem.
She stressed that filing the police report was a precaution, not an act of hostility. Savage also noted that she had attempted to resolve the issue privately by reaching out to older members of Davido’s family before taking official action.
Despite the tension and alleged fallout, Tiwa Savage emphasized that her feelings toward Davido remain positive. “I haven’t spoken to you, David, but I want you to know that I do love you, and I would never betray you or take sides,” she said. Her remarks highlight a desire to move forward, keeping their children’s friendship and shared history in the music industry a priority.
