The Plateau State Youth Council, Bokkos Local Government Area, has expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the violent attack that occurred on the night of Sunday, September 14, 2025, in Mushere Chiefdom.

The attack claimed the lives of six people and resulted in the destruction of homes and property, leaving several families displaced and traumatized.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Council, Makings Bwefang Sunday, the group condemned the incident, describing it as inhuman, barbaric, and a deliberate attempt to destabilize the peace and unity of Bokkos communities.

“This is one attack too many on our people. The continuous loss of lives and property in Bokkos LGA is unacceptable. We demand immediate reinforcement of security personnel in vulnerable communities and swift action to apprehend the perpetrators of this wicked act,” the statement read.

The Youth Council urged the Federal Government to prioritize citizens’ safety by deploying adequate security personnel to rural communities under repeated attacks.

It also called on the Plateau State Government to work closely with security agencies to ensure justice is served and to provide relief materials to victims who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

Additionally, the Council encouraged Bokkos Local Government Authorities to collaborate with traditional rulers, youth, and community leaders to strengthen grassroots vigilance and intelligence gathering.

Appealing for calm, the Council urged the people of Bokkos to remain united and vigilant in the face of provocation.
“Our strength lies in our unity. We urge all youths to be security-conscious, cooperate with authorities, and report any suspicious movements or threats in their communities. Together, we must protect our land and our people,” the statement added.

The council extended condolences to the families of those killed in the attack, prayed for the quick recovery of the injured, and called for peace to be restored in the land.
