French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has confirmed the signing of Nigerian forward Rasheedat Ajibade on a two-year contract.

Ajibade, the captain of the Super Falcons, joins PSG after leaving Spanish side Atlético de Madrid at the end of last season.

She played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) triumph, earning Player of the Tournament honours after scoring once and providing two assists as the team secured a record 10th continental title.

“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere,” Ajibade said following the completion of her move.

The 24-year-old forward will join compatriot Jennifer Echegini at Les Parisiennes as the club strengthens its squad in a bid to reclaim the Ligue 1 Féminine title, last won by PSG in 2021.
