Leece winger Divine Onyemaechi has been included in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, weeks after completing his transfer from West Bromwich Albion to the Italian Serie A side.
The 18-year-old, who scored 11 goals in 21 matches for West Brom’s U-18s last season, will join the Flying Eagles’ training camp in Abuja next week.
Head coach Aliyu Zubairu confirmed Onyemaechi’s selection as Nigeria prepares for the tournament in Chile, where they will face Colombia, Norway and Saudi Arabia in Group F.
The U-20 World Cup runs from September 27 to October 19.
