The Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, has hailed the party’s loyalists despite the defection of major figures in the state to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mohammed declared his support for the party’s stakeholders in Delta and vowed to contribute to the PDP’s victories in the upcoming elections.

The governor made the remarks when he hosted a delegation of Deltans who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Bauchi, on Wednesday. Chief Edwin Olley and Hon. Micheal Tidi Esq, the immediate Chairman of Warri South Local Government of Delta State, led the delegation.

The governor described the leaders as “real party men” who were among the original founding members of the PDP in the state and have contributed immensely to the party’s development and victory in Delta and Nigeria as a whole at various elections.

He commended their doggedness and their steadfast adherence to the party’s ideology, despite a wave of political cross-carpeting, by not shifting their loyalty away from the house they had built.

He assured them that the PDP is the party of the time that will forever remain a darling to Nigerians in modern democracy, given its most formidable and focused approach to meeting national ideals across all regions.

The governor assured them that he would continue to identify with them and all other committed PDP faithful across the country.

In their remarks, Chief Edwin Olley and Hon. Dr Micheal Tidi Esq, commended the governor for his leadership role as Chairman of the PDP Forum, describing him as a rallying pillar for the continued survival and sense of direction of the party.

They requested his support and cooperation to put the Delta State PDP in a new direction after the exit of their state governor from the party, attesting that Delta State has been an overwhelmingly PDP state throughout the history of the present democracy.
