Nigerian music mogul Olamide recently shared candid one-word descriptions of some of Afrobeats biggest stars.
The revelations came during an interview on the popular online show Flow with Korty, which aired on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
Sitting in a car for the interview with Korty EO, Olamide was challenged to describe several Afrobeats stars based on his time with them, using only a single word. His responses, delivered with thoughtful pauses, provided a glimpse into his personal perceptions of these well-known figures.
When asked about Fireboy DML, Olamide‘s response was swift and definitive: “Amazing.” He took a moment longer to consider Adekunle Gold. After a brief pause, he settled on the word “audacious,” a descriptor that speaks to the artist’s bold creative evolution.
For Lil Kesh, another artist who rose to prominence under the YBNL banner, the veteran artist’s choice was “adorable,” a term that surprised and delighted the interviewer.
He described current YBNL sensation Asake as “spontaneous,” likely a nod to the artist’s rapid rise to fame and dynamic musical style.
Finally, when asked to describe himself, Olamide chose the word “peaceful,” a simple yet powerful term that reflects his measured demeanor and established position in the industry.
Olamide’s concise yet telling descriptions quickly became a talking point, offering fans and industry observers alike a rare, personal insight into the relationships and dynamics behind some of Nigeria’s most successful musical acts.
