Nigerian singer FOLA has provided more details about his upcoming debut album, Catharsis, which he had previously announced.
In a new post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, August 1, 2024, FOLA shared an image defining the album’s title and offered a deeper look into the project’s personal significance.
FOLA revealed that he has been writing the songs for over a year, with the debut album serving as a deeply personal and therapeutic endeavor. He described the creative process as a way to “mend what life tried to break, to let go of what I couldn’t hold onto, and most of all, to heal.”
Expressing his gratitude and excitement, FOLA stated his hope that the album will bring listeners the “same sense of healing and release” that it gave him. He concluded the post by confidently declaring “catharsis” to be “the album you didn’t know you needed,” hinting at its imminent release with the hashtag #catharsisOTW. The update builds anticipation for the project, promising a raw and emotional body of work from the artist.
My debut album “catharsis” is almost here. I’ve been writing these songs for over a year now, long before most of you even knew FOLA. I wrote these songs to mend what life tried to break, to let go of what I couldn’t hold onto, and most of all, to heal.
