In a bold cultural statement ahead of African Fashion Week Nigeria and London, the African Fashion Week team, in partnership with the British High Commission (BHC), hosted ‘An Evening of Indigo Elu’, an exclusive pre-event spotlighting the richness of Nigeria’s indigenous textile tradition.

The event served as a confluence of culture and diplomacy, attracting guests from the fashion, creative, and diplomatic communities. The carefully curated experience reflected African Fashion Week London and Nigeria’s broader mission: to preserve African heritage while elevating it to global appreciation.

The coordination of the event, from concept to execution, was carried out by the African Fashion Week project and communications team.

Project Manager, African Fashion Week Nigeria, , highlighted the role of storytelling and cultural sensitivity in promoting African textile culture.

The event buttressed that fashion is not just about fabric; it is history, identity, and expression.
