Mikel Arteta has given an injury update on his Arsenal team after they started their pre-season tour with an impressive win over Serie A side AC Milan.
Arteta was speaking during the post-match conference where he gave an update on the injured players coming into the 2025/26 season. According to him, Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Magneles were not fit for the game against AC Milan.
Jurrien is still not there, he is not fully training yet with us. Gabriel had a niggle the other day in training and because of the fact he’s been out for so long as well, we have to manage him. We have been in Spain with a different pitch, different conditions, go back to the UK with different ones, come here and again a lot of changes. We have to minimise the risk with him.”
Arteta featured more teenagers in the game and he was impressed with their performance.
He said,
“I am very happy with all the kids, I think they are able to play at that level at 15-years-old in my opinion because of the environment and the culture that is within the team. When somebody makes you feel so comfortable, so confident straight away, you can go and do it. At least it gives you the best chance, then you have to have the qualities these kids have to deliver against opposition like this.”
