Big Brother Naija star Anita Natasha Akide, better known as Tacha, has hinted at her plan to enter politics, saying she is no longer comfortable sitting on the sidelines while things fall apart in her home state.
She revealed this during an interview on Channels Television on Sunday.
According to her, Rivers State has great potential but has been left underdeveloped due to poor leadership and government negligence.
“When I look at other states like Abuja and Lagos, and I see how far they’ve come, and with the potential Rivers State has, they’re not trying to exploit it. It’s just very disappointing because there are so many youths, so many talents there, so many things that if the government can shed light on it, a lot can happen,” she said.
The 29-year-old reality TV star, who hails from Port Harcourt, added that young people need to become more involved in politics if they want to see real change.
She explained that talking from the outside wasn’t enough and hinted that she had already started putting things in motion.
“It is something I’m working on. I’ll have to make it 70 per cent done before I can talk about it, because it does not make sense granting interviews like this, talking about the government without being involved,” she said.
Tacha also shared her goal of setting a new Guinness World Record by completing 150 makeup looks within 24 hours.
The planned event, she noted, is another way of showing that young Nigerians, especially women, can think big and act boldly.
