Forvis Mazars in Nigeria has commemorated 50 years of providing trusted professional services, marking a major milestone in its journey from a local practice to a prominent player in Nigeria’s professional services landscape.
Established in 1975 as Ojike, Okechukwu & Co., the firm has undergone significant transformation over the decades, rebranding as Ojike & Partners in 2016, joining the Mazars global network in 2019, and becoming part of the newly formed Forvis Mazars global network in 2024.
At the anniversary celebration, Country Leader of Forvis Mazars in Nigeria, Uhabia Ojike, reflected on the firm’s legacy: “Fifty years of service is a testament to our commitment to technical excellence and public trust. We are proud to celebrate this milestone with our people, clients, and communities. Looking forward, our focus remains on growth, resilience, and impact.”
Partner, Forvis Mazars, Nigeria, Peter Nwofia, called the anniversary a proud moment, highlighting the firm’s evolution in a dynamic market: “Our values — excellence, quality, integrity, and entrepreneurship — have consistently guided our progress. We are deeply proud of our inclusive culture and strong investment in people, from interns to partners,” he added.
He emphasised the firm’s dedication to its workforce, noting its commitment to professional development and long-term support: “We promise employability and friendship for life, and we deliver that through ongoing training, exposure, and a collaborative culture,” he said.
Another partner, Osamudiane Adiams, pointed to Forvis Mazars’ enduring community focus: “Our legacy is built on relationships — with our people, our clients, and the wider community. We’ve backed small businesses through targeted SME programmes, pro bono advisory, and leadership development.”
Forvis Mazars has set an ambitious goal: to become Nigeria’s fifth-largest accounting firm by 2028. Plans include expanding its client base, increasing revenue, and scaling up its talent pool.
CFO of Lekoil Nigeria Ltd, Edward During, praised the firm’s trajectory:
“Fifty years is an outstanding achievement. Forvis Mazars has demonstrated resilience and consistency, and I believe they are well on their way to becoming one of Nigeria’s top five audit firms.”
