“MY admiration for thriller and mystery stories inspired me to write this novel, titled, In Cold Blood,” says young and talented writer, Agbejule Stella.
Set in Nigeria, the novel revolves around the life of Funke, a young, beautiful and intelligent woman, who relocates to Lagos for a fresh start after a turbulent relationship with Lanre. She moves in with Yinka, her cousin who lives on Macaulay close, a residential and affluent part of Victoria Island.
While there she gets accustomed to the peaceful and serene nature of the environment. And she also gets to know the Ajayi’s, the much talked about family of the close.
Richard Ajayi, the patriarch of the Ajayi family, plays a vital role within his family circle being an upright man with values. He instills these values in his children, but Gbenga, his first son, deviates from these values, causing a fractured relationship between father and son.
Giving further insights on the 154 -novel, the author says, “Gbenga’s behaviour worsens as he gets constant approval from his mother, Bisi Ajayi; a flashy lady who loved the spotlight.
“However, when a murder occurs in Ajayi’s residence, Funke’s mental and psychological ability is tested. Thus, the novel explores the serene nature of Victoria Island, its exotic restaurants, stylish nightclubs and delightful recreational centers. The story also attempts to reveal the unique, intrinsic, and sometimes twisted nature of the human character.”
The Niger Delta writer whose work is available on Amazon explained, “Being my first work, the story creates an understanding of individual differences within a family circle and the twisted nature of individuals that bring out their inherent nature, which in turn triggers them to a point beyond control.”

by inspector Kunle. The investigation leads to a logical conclusion showcasing Funke’s special abilities.”
