Arsenal and Mikel Arteta will have a new assistant coach ahead of the 2025/2026 club football season.
Gabriel Heinze, former Manchester United and Argentina defender, has officially joined Arsenal’s first-team coaching staff as the assistant head coach ahead of the club’s pre-season preparations and a new club football season in the Premier League.
The addition follows the departure of assistant coach Carlos Cuesta, who recently took up the managerial role at Italian Serie A side Parma, prompting Mikel Arteta to seek reinforcements for his backroom team.
In an official announcement, the club shared: “We’re pleased to welcome Gabriel Heinze to our men’s first-team coaching staff. As a former international with extensive experience on and off the pitch, his insights will be valuable to our squad.”
Arteta, who has known Heinze since their playing days at Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his enthusiasm about the appointment and extended a warm welcome to Heinze and his family.
“We’re thrilled to bring Gabriel on board as we continue building a strong and dynamic coaching setup at the club,” said Arteta.
