Native Filmworks and Michelangelo Productions

have announced the upcoming release of “The Lost Days,” Wingonia Ikpi’s feature film directorial debut.

The film is scheduled to premiere globally on Prime Video on July 11, 2025.

Set in Abeokuta, The Lost Days follows the story of Chisom, a woman recently in remission from lymphoma who travels in search of reconciliation with the family she left behind. Her return stirs unresolved tensions, unearths hidden grief, and sets off a chain of events that challenge long-held notions of love, forgiveness, and familial responsibility.

The film marks the screen acting debut of Ifeoma Fafunwa, widely acclaimed for her work in theatre and social impact storytelling. She stars alongside Bimbo Manuel, Baaj Adebule, Cynthia Clarke, and Durotimi Okutagidi in a drama that explores the

complexities of intergenerational conflict and emotional healing.

The screenplay was written by Abdul TJ and Paul S. Rowlston. The film is produced

by Steve Gukas, Dotun Olakunri, Chioma Ezeani, and Bola Atta.

Speaking about the film, Wingonia Ikpi, the director, said, “The Lost Days’ is a timeless love story that chose me. To be entrusted with emotions this raw is the kind of artistic awakening that defines a filmmaker’s journey.”

The Lost Days is the ninth instalment in the First Features Project, a joint initiative between Native Filmworks and Michelangelo Productions that supports emerging Nigerian directors. The project equips filmmakers with mentorship, training, and

production resources to tell original, locally rooted yet globally resonant stories.

The newly released trailer offers a glimpse into the film’s emotional depth and layered character arcs, underscoring themes of redemption, estrangement, and second chances. Audiences can now watch the trailer on the First Features Project’s social media platforms, including YouTube.
