Women in Maritime and Energy (WIME) Awards will on Monday June 30, 2025 host a high-impact global webinar to celebrate exceptional women in different fields.

The virtual event, tagged “Anchored in Purpose: Women Leading the Charge on Land and Sea”, is put together to celebrate their resilience, achievements and commitment. Besides, the webinar also provides a platform for women to share practical strategies on how to propel gender inclusion across male-dominated industries.

WIME Advisory Board Chairperson and Deputy Director at NIMASA, Dr. Chizoba Anyika revealed that the essence of the event aims to promote gender inclusion and equity in a male dominated industries in commemoration of International Women in Engineering Day (June 23), International Day of Women in Diplomacy (June 24), and the Day of the Seafarer (June 25).

Dr. Anyika stressed that “Anchored in Purpose” will showcase dynamic women leaders across the maritime, engineering, energy, and policy sectors

According to her, the webinar will bring together professionals, students, development partners, and thought leaders from around Nigeria and beyond. The webinar boasts an impressive lineup of speakers, including Dr. Chizoba Anyika, Engr. Amina Danmadami PhD, Dr. Odunayo Ani, Engr. Nimot Muili, Captain Edidiong Akpanebe Sola-Abalo, Oluwadamilola Adebamipe Adedeji, Vivian Chimezie-Azubuike, Abiola Soremekun, and Tunbosun Afolayan. The event will be moderated by Joy Dimka, Legal Counsel at the Nigerian Shippers Council.
