The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, has described the July 12 local government election as a major step in preparing for the 2027 elections.
Speaking on Saturday, at the APC Lagos East Mega Rally, tagged: One Voice, One Vision, One Victory,” held in Ikorodu, Abiru emphasised the importance of the upcoming elections, urging party members to remain steadfast and committed to the party’s agenda.
He noted the crucial role of grassroots mobilisation, urging supporters and canvassers to work tirelessly to mobilise voters from street to street and corner to corner.
Abiru commended the development strides made by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasising the party’s commitment to delivering impactful governance in Lagos State and Nigeria.
The senator urged party members to remain steadfast, noting that the local government elections are a crucial step towards sustainable growth and development under President Tinubu’s leadership.
He said: “The forthcoming election is an opportunity for us to build and consolidate the APC agenda across all our local governments and LCDA’s. I stand here before you today to reaffirm my unwavering support for all of our candidates for both the chairmanship, the vice chairmanship and the counsellorship in the forthcoming election. I stand firmly behind all the candidates that our party is putting forward.
“My charge for all of us is to encourage all the supporters and canvassers, let this be the beginning of mobilisation of the grassroot support, from street to street, corner to corner, in order to make sure we have a very meaningful outcome in the coming Local government election. APC remains committed to delivering impactful governance both in Lagos state and in Nigeria generally.
“I urge our party members and leaders to remain steadfast and nation will return to the path of sustainable growth and development under President Bola Tinubu. This election is also another major step in preparing ourselves for the upcoming 2027 elections as well.
